Quick Message - Seven, New restaurant opening
it may even be open already. I drove past the unit that was previously 'Seven Restaurant', next to the Bali, and it was re-opening as another restaurant. I hope this one does a little better.

Don't hold out too much hope for this restaurant. Sadly, it is going to be another stereotypical Italian restaurant in the same mold as Cafe Immo, Viva, Pizza Express etc. Saw the owner the other day speaking to the guy who used to manage Da Peppino's, on the High Street, which is now the Peking restaurant. In other words, it will just serve pizzas and cheap microwavable pastas! Why, doesn't someone show some imagination when opening up a restaurant in Dorking?? What we want is something out of the ordinary, a little different -- is that too much to ask??? A Greek, Mexican or Japanese restaurant in my opinion, would beat the pants off the opposition, if it was well run, competitively priced and the standards of food were of a high caliber. I despair at the amount of Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants in Dorking, all churning out the same rubbish at highly inflated prices. There are some exceptions like The Fountain Garden (West Street), Chilli and Spice and Cafe Rialto (both South Street) and the Dorking Brassarie on Junction Road.

Advertisement for Gustav towards the back of the Dorking Ad. Apparently, it is opening next week. No news on the menu but, it going to be another Italian restaurant. What a shame! Any bets, on how long this new venture will last? What will be the next restaurant to shut? My bet is on Zaffron, which is a couple of doors away from the main post office. It is always empty and a couple of weeks ago in the Dorking Ad, an article slated it for poor hygiene.
