Aromantica, St Martins Walk
Along with M&S, Aromantica in St Martins Walk is the only original shop to survive since the shopping centre opened back in the early nineties.
You would have never predicted it as it sells niche 'wellbeing' products that many people would probably question whether or not they actually make much difference. But full credit to them the shop always looks attractive and interesting and they have kept going where many have failed.
An amusing point is that at the side if the shop they have yellow banners up listing all of their products, unfortunately the person that made these made the unbelievable error of listing 'Sliming Aids' instead of 'Slimming Aids' - The banner has been displaying this for ages.
Their website (although it is probably not that interesting to many of us) http://www.aromantica.co.uk

I am amazed that Aromantica has survived has long as it has! I went in there for the first time last week and was impressed by the range of products, the layout of the shop and the knowledgable staff. It is really hidden from view when you go down St Martins Walk. Generally most people tend to not venture further down than The Officers Club. That is a real shame, as there are some really decent shops further down like Fun & Games, Oxygen Outdoor, Vandevi, the art gallery (name escapes me!) and Aromantica. All of these are independents and they need OUR support, to SURVIVE!!
