Choices, High Street

Choices the video/dvd rental store is strangely closing at 7.00pm each evening this week. Maybe they have got staffing problems as the upstairs section of the shop has been frequently closed off.

See below in the comment section of Pizza Piazza. It might have something to do with the possible relocation of Choices & WHSmith. Also feel free to look at the other comments, rumours that might affect Dorking town centre in the next couple of months. It is ridiculous that Choices are closing at 7pm -- what about the wives, girlfriends and even some men who are already bored of The World Cup, where is their alternative??? The only pub in Dorking which is a football free zone is.....Arty P's!

Walked by the Choices this evening (Wednesday 20th June) and according to the staff they will be closing PERMANENTLY as of tomorrow. This is due to a massive increase in the rent. They are NOT relocating to another premises in Dorking. Well, this has been some year for Dorking! If this trend in shops closing continues, there will be nothing left in the very near future. Dorking IS a ghost town and is losing out big time to Epsom, Reigate and even Leatherhead! By the way, another pub which has NO television/big screen is The Star on West Street.

if this is true, it's a disgrace i for one have been a regular customer of this shop more or less since they opened . what with all the other closing shops in the town it's a wonder how any of the shops survive apart from the famous charity shops. the council has to pull their finger out and be proactive in supporting the rest of the town before dorking becomes a charity shoppers heaven !!
