Bulls Head - business as usual?
Walking past the Bulls Head pub the weekend before Easter, I thought it was very much business as usual. Recently the pubs manager had been in the news after receiving slapped wrists over letting the pub become somewhat of a noise nuisance to people which live nearby. He even had to publicly apologise for being involved with a Facebook account, expressing views against those who were against his methods of running the establishment.
Anyway, after all this, what I saw was pretty much the same as before. The music could be heard from North Street, although it seemed a little quieter. Almost unavoidably, there were people all around the pavement areas. I know this problem is solely due to the smoking ban, but it still looks messy.

I really hate when the clientele of Bulls Head continue to block the pavements time and time again whilst having a chat and a smoke outside. It is intimidating, is a general noise nuisance and they still do not understand the basic concept of sticking their fag butts in the bins provided by the pub. The butts are thrown into South Street, onto the pavements only to clog up the nearest drain. I have seen the staff recently trying to make a valiant effort by going out the following morning by using a dustpan and brush to clear up all the fag related material. Still, it is a real shame that this pub has not a hope in hell of erecting a smoking shelter to stop the clientele continually blocking the pavements.
These morons have no pride in the town whatsoever. They continually take their drinks outside whilst they are having a fag. Once the fag is done, they leave their bottle of WKD or their pint of Stella outside for someone to fall over or to be used as 'ammunition' for later on in the evening. The pub does have signs stating that drinks cannot be taken outside, it really should be enforced by the landlord. There should also be a sign inside the pub stating that the punters should NOT block the pavement outside the pub, to act in a considerate manner to other members of the public and to keep their noise down to an acceptable level. Sadly, a lot of the Bulls Head punters do not even have the ability to read or speak properly. At the end of day, you know what I mean' geezer!!! Innit!! Jo
i think people who post comments like those above mind need to find a new topic to talk about. you lot sound like a broken record!!! the street being blocked by customers is unfortunate but unavoidable. as once the people are outside the pub they are not on pub property and therefore the land lords have no power over them. Now if you exersized some good manners and asked to be let through i know there would be no problems. and if you were really worried you might get stabbed???? cross the road as you would at any other time if you didn't have some poor landlord to moan at!
and as for the people who live near pubs any pubs! come on you moved next to a pub what did you think it was a church, you were going to have complete silence. you made that choice! dont take it out on the landlords who im sure do there upmost to keep the peace.
I agree, don´t blame the landlords. Blame yourself, because its the constant mentality that dorking should revolve around you and no one else.
Some people just don´t have the foresight to see how their actions will pan out.
Carry on complaining about the bulls head, have it shut, then the people will just go else where, maybe to a pub near you!?!? Where will it end?
The Malthouse, out of the way, was the best solution, they killed that and now here are the ramifications.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!
