The Cricketers - The beer is back
I went up the Cricketers pub in South Street last weekend and they were stocked up with beer. I reported on here that on the last couple of times they had completely run dry and it seemed as if the recent business closures in the town were not just going to be limited to shops.
Glad to see that it is business as usual again and that the usual atmosphere had returned.

Noticed that The Cricketers has got new management. They are keen to improve things in this pub. This pub as always had great quality ales on offer - London Pride, ESB, Discovery etc. Now, they have even food on offer! I cannot remember the last time The Cricketers offered food. Until recently, you could order a pint and grab a sandwich from Jax accross the road. Maybe the smoking ban is hitting trade at The Cricketers and the new management felt it was time to introduce food to increase the number of people going this public house. The 'new' menu looks good if a little on the expensive side!!
