Dorking Cock - The original prankster revealed!
Browsing the web I came across this picture which was on a website describing a stag weekend in Dorking. The guys were staying in the Travel Lodge on Reigate Road so after visiting the pubs just could not resist!The 'L-Plate' was left on the cock and ended up appearing in the Dorking Advertiser. What a great result for a stag night - Doing something so harmless but still it ends up in the local rag.

Very humourous and a harmless bit of fun to add a 'L plate' to the Cockerel.
Shame the same could not be said for the moron who decided to smash a very large window which fronts onto West Street. The window in question is the shop which sells light fittings and is adjacent to the Kings Arms pub. I am sick and tired of thick s**theads who get pissed and cannot handle it and then lash out at a shop window by smashing it. It is a real nuisance for the owner of the shop as it has to get boarded up, the insurance company has to get called and generally creates an uneasy image of the town by creating fear that anti-social behaviour is out of control in Dorking.
Noticed that the automatic door at Sainsbury's on the High Street is still boarded up. My bet is that somebody to exception to Sainsbury's being closed or maybe it was out of stock of a certain brand of cigarettes or bottle of alcohol.
Notice that the front window of Aurora - which is next to The Kings Arms was replaced yesterday afternoon. It took five men from Dorking Glass to complete the job. It seems that Dorking Glass are getting a lot of business recently. At least their business has not been affected by the traffic jams plaguing the town centre.
Noticed that the Cockerel was covered in blue and white toilet paper early morning (6AM) last week. Noticed about four and five girls who must have been off their skulls taking pictures and one of them was even 'riding' the Cockerel. When I drove back about a half a hour later, the Cockerel was draped in toilet paper. Another prank to add to the ever growing list --- just wait till April Fools Day!!
